SOCIAL MEDIA SUPPORT
Becoming a social media ambassador is to lend your voice to a cause. It costs nothing but can lead to greater impact, reach and support for beneficiaries. Amandla Development has started the Awethu Club, a group of donors, thinkers and changemakers dedicated to empowering youth for a brighter future. We believe that education is key to ending the cycle of poverty, but to do so takes time and a lot of support. We've created a GivenGain fundraising initiative for the Awethu Club that is trying to raise $15 000 to keep the Adolescent Youth Friendly Space running. Join your voice to #EndPoverty with education.
Any LIKE, SHARE or COMMENT on our social media channels could have a positive impact on the project.
BECOME AN AMBASSADOR
If you would like to become an ambassador for Amandla Development please contact Justine at comms[at]amandladevelopment.org. We can support you with content, ideas or anything else you might need. We believe networking and sharing the cause is one of the best ways to support the youth of Philippi. Right now we really need to raise $15 000 to keep the Adolescent Youth Friendly Space running as our core funding finishes at the end of 2018. So please do get in touch, every effort counts!
THE TASK IS HUGE - BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE
• Like many poor communities in South Africa, Philippi has a school dropout rate of over 50%
• For every 10 students who enter the system in Philippi, only 2 will qualify for university
• Youth unemployment is over 70%
• Every 1 in 5 people have HIV
It’s no wonder many students struggle just to get to school, only to lose hope and drop out. That's why we need as much help as possible.
Of course, donations are always welcome!!! We are currently trying to raise $15 000 to keep the AYFS running. Every bit counts.
